The fourth "Career Meetings" event, traditionally organized by the faculty members of Yalova University's Department of New Media and Communication and the Communication Club, was held.
At the event, where experienced professionals from the media and communication sector shared their insights with students, speakers included Ferit Ömeroğlu, a well-known face on television and a TV Programer and Presenter, and İlknur Sargut Danacı, Corporate Communication and Brand Management Specialist at İBB İştirakler.
Ömeroğlu, who began his career with a background in journalism, offered advice to students based on his own experiences. And highlighting the nuances of this sector, Ferit Ömeroğlu also guided students toward entrepreneurship with the story of his own agency's founding.
Ilknur Sargut Danacı, who also began her career in journalism and gained experience at Turkey's largest agencies such as Anadolu Agency, Ihlas News Agency, and Demirören News Agency, and continues her career as a Subsidiary Communications Specialist at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, shared her knowledge and experience regarding her own journalism background, career building, and working in the media sector with the students.
Following the speakers' presentations, the event continued in a question-and-answer format, where students received answers to their questions on topics such as the media sector, journalism, and career management from experts in the field.
The event, organized with the contributions and support of Yalova University New Media and Communication Department faculty members Dr. Lecturer Banu Ezber Sayar, Dr. Lecturer Demet Yalçın, Lecturer Ceyda Tetik, and Communication Club Advisor Prof. Dr. Esra Cizmeci Ümit, concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation.
