The "4th Yalova Communication Summit," organized by the New Media and Communication Department and the Communication Club of Yalova University, brought together leading figures from the media and digital world with students. In the event, which received intense interest and where the dynamics of digital marketing, journalism, artificial intelligence, and social media were discussed, students were provided with up-to-date experiences from the industry's kitchen.
In her opening speech, Prof. Dr. Esra Cizmeci Ümit, a faculty member of the New Media and Communication Department at Yalova University and the advisor of the Communication Club, emphasized that the summit, with its traditional structure, serves as an important bridge in university-industry collaboration. Emphasizing the importance of students combining their theoretical knowledge with practical experience in the field, Prof. Dr. Cizmeci Ümit thanked the guests, the audience, and the Communication Club students who contributed to the organization of the event.
From Journalism to Artificial Intelligence: The Pulse of the Industry Was Monitored
The summit began with the first session where TRT News Correspondent Semih Çalışkan shared his field reporting reflexes, hot agenda management, and the intricacies of television journalism. Then, TYT Türk Reporter Dilara İncebacak delivered an impressive presentation on her career journey, the dynamics of modern media, and current news reporting.
Later in the program, Digital Marketing and Social Media Management Expert Oğuzhan Tekbaş explained the digital transformation journeys of brands and strategic content management. Touching on the topic of artificial intelligence, which has been the most important agenda in the digital world recently, Digital Marketing Specialist and Digital Content Producer Gaye Sülün shared enlightening information about the importance of content production and artificial intelligence in digital environments.
Finally, Digital Content Producer Nail Ercah, an alumnus of the department, took the podium. Sharing his own journey in the industry and content production processes after graduation, Ercah entertained his fellow students with his jokes while inspiring them with his experiences. In the closing section of the event, Bülent Uslu, a sports commentator for TGRT and the founding president of Eagle Media, participated in the summit via video and shared his views on sports media and digitalization with the students.

In the evaluations made after the summit, which progressed in an interactive environment and where students found direct answers to their questions, it was stated that the event was extremely productive in terms of career planning and professional networking. Stating that the speakers were carefully selected and that they were greatly inspired by the talks reflecting different perspectives of the field of communication, the students expressed their requests for such qualified events to be held more frequently within the university and for the program to be extended in the coming years by organizing it in two sessions.
The summit, which received intense interest, concluded after the presentation of thank-you plaques to the participating guests and a group photo session.
