Students from Yalova University achieved great success in the international "Global PR Challenge" competition held in the Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. Yalova University, the only university from Turkey participating in the competition, took the top three spots, bringing both our country's and the university's names to the world.
In the competition, Sudenaz Merdin, a 3rd-year student from the New Media and Communication Department, and her team won the first prize with their AI-powered application called "One City, Many Voices." The application drew attention with its innovative structure, which brings together people from different cultures in the same city.
In second place was Eyüp Ensar Keskin, a 2nd-year student from Yalova University's New Media and Communication Department, and his team. Their project, "The Ships of Culture," which symbolises intercultural interaction through a metaphorical journey, received full marks from the jury. The third-place prize went to Moldir Zakirova, a 4th-year student from the same department, and her team. Their project, "When in Sharjah, You Are Home," stood out with its concept of giving visitors a sense of belonging.
The students who achieved great success by winning the top three places represented both Yalova University and Turkey in the best possible way. Speaking on the matter, the students emphasised that this achievement was not only a source of individual pride but also brought great joy in representing their universities, their esteemed professors who nurtured them, and their country to the world.
