Yalova University's New Media and Communication Department and Communication Club organised an extensive technical visit to the Turkuvaz Media Group in Istanbul with the aim of enhancing students' professional knowledge and experience. Under the coordination of Dr Banu Ezber Sayar and Dr Demet Yalçın, the students who participated in the technical visit had the opportunity to get to know and observe the media sector first-hand.
During the tour, students visited the broadcasting studios (Atv, Aspor, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Esra Erol's Show), green screen rooms, and live broadcast areas, which are at the heart of television broadcasting. During briefings by experts in the field, students gained comprehensive information about the working principles of studio systems, camera and sound systems, control rooms, pre-broadcast preparation processes, and the technical stages of live broadcasting. Students also closely followed practical explanations of where and how green screen (greenbox) technology is used.
In the second part of the technical tour, the students visited Vav TV, part of the Turkuvaz Media Group. Here, Yalova University students and our department lecturers, who were guests on the programme ‘Gençlerle Baş Başa’ (Face to Face with Young People) broadcast on Vav TV, had the opportunity to experience the programme's broadcast process. Students met with academic and writer Süleyman Seyfi Öğün, who was a guest on the programme, and asked questions about communication, media, youth, and social issues.
