The Department of New Media and Communication at Yalova University is conducting informational activities for its academic staff as part of the sustainability efforts within the university's quality initiatives.
The Department Sustainability Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Esra Cizmeci Ümit, held a comprehensive Waste Management training session with the department's academic staff on April 9, 2026. During the training, the topics of Chemical Waste Training and Electronic, Fluorescent, and Battery Waste Training, which form the cornerstones of environmental management on campus, were detailed, and technical processes were conveyed. Prof. Dr. Cizmeci Ümit also emphasised the importance of the guiding role that faculty members play in spreading the recycling culture within the institution while discussing the applicability of the principles conveyed during the Zero Waste training in academic units. The training concluded with evaluations on the improvement of waste separation processes in academic offices.
