Students of the New Media and Communication Department at Yalova University came together for a Waste Management training organised to raise environmental awareness and learn sustainable living practices.
The training, which took place on April 17, 2026, with the participation of students from all class levels, was conducted by the Department's Sustainability Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Esra Cizmeci Ümit. In the training, comprehensive information was shared on the topics of Electronic, Fluorescent, and Battery Waste Training and Chemical Waste Training, with a particular focus on the environmental impacts arising from the use of electronic media tools. Prof. Dr. Esra Cizmeci Ümit concluded the training by emphasising that the Zero Waste approach should become a way of life and reminding communication students of their important role in creating social awareness.
